Hello, this is YC TOUR.
The real summer vacation season is finally here. This year, many travelers are looking toward Vietnam, a destination that still feels relatively affordable and full of atmosphere.
But you have probably heard worries like these at least once:
“Summer in Vietnam is so hot and humid that you feel soaked in sweat after walking for five minutes.”
“A sudden shower ruined my whole schedule.”
Yes, that is true. Summer travel in Vietnam can be challenging. But in travel, there is also a way to turn that heat into something stylish, vivid, and memorable. Instead of taking the same package tour as everyone else, or improvising a free trip with no backup plan, we want to explain what becomes different when you travel with us.
This is YC TOUR’s TCG Concierge Project, a travel assistant in your pocket.

Summer travel in Vietnam is not only about avoiding the heat. It is about redesigning how you meet the landscape.
Step 1: “How should we choose the key places of the trip?” - Put key places first
The success of a summer trip in Vietnam depends on where and how you spend the daytime hours comfortably. Once you start walking around outside without a plan, the trip can turn into endurance training. We also spend a lot of time discussing with guests what kind of place will satisfy them. In other words, we talk about where they feel happy, and in what kind of situation.
“Even if it rains, I am happy if I am in front of a historic place I wanted to see.” “I sweat easily, so I absolutely do not want to be sweating all day.” “The hotel must have a gym.”
So instead of beginning with which vendors we will work with, we first place the key experiences that the traveler truly wants.
Five-star hotel stays and infinity pools
Summer is considered low season for travel in Vietnam, so it can also be the time of year when luxury hotels are available at the most reasonable rates. The key is to rest in well-air-conditioned rooms during the day, or save energy while enjoying a wide-open pool. We choose safe hotels as reliable options for avoiding the heat.

A good hotel is not just a place to sleep. It becomes the base camp that absorbs the heat and the unexpected turns of the day.
Making annoying travel routes feel simple
If a hot day is expected, we may place a motorbike tour after the rain instead of using a car. We can even arrange for a motorbike to be delivered to the airport or train station so the traveler can ride directly. Drivers meet guests as close to the airport exit as possible and guide them quickly into an air-conditioned car.
We maintain the car’s air conditioning, prepare water, and remove unnecessary movement so the trip feels lighter. We also make it possible to take a quick shower at a massage shop, or sit for a while at a friend’s place before moving on.
To avoid the heat of the Vietnamese city, we may design a boat or cruise route where guests can feel a cooler sea breeze. Sometimes we invite travelers into an easy package where they do not have to plan, and simply follow someone they can trust. When everyone else is looking at a Halong Bay cruise, we may take guests to a secret boat in Lan Ha Bay and a private beach. A welcome drink in a cabin over the sea, looking out at limestone formations, completely changes the density of a summer trip.
Air-conditioned galleries and concept cafes
Vietnam has a strong cafe culture where French-style buildings and thoughtful interiors meet. During the daytime, it is much more efficient to connect indoor spots in a careful route. We also help Korean travelers shop during the day in places with the air conditioning they need most. Good products can be found not only in famous counterfeit markets, but also in local Lotte Mart or Go! Mart stores. A comfortable hotel lobby that costs nothing, a massage shop run by a friendly acquaintance where you can escape the heat, and a kind driver who can guide you even at night all become part of the route.

Step 2: “Who will we meet, and what will we experience?” - A local network of 200 people
Once the key places are set, we decide who to meet and what kind of deeper experiences can happen in and around those places. This is where the difference between an ordinary free trip and YC TOUR becomes clear. Yes, that is right. On Zalo, Vietnam’s version of KakaoTalk, I have about 200 contacts, excluding Koreans. They are not only people related to travel. They are friends I met through different kinds of work in different regions. At first, I only wanted to coordinate trips around Hanoi. But as the places introduced by friends expanded, the network gradually came to cover the whole country.
Instead of moving with people in the typical guide style, Vietnam YC TOUR connects travelers to a reliable local network through Zalo, Vietnam’s major messenger app. Before the trip begins, guests are invited into a Zalo chat room. YC as travel host, one Vietnamese interpreter, and one Vietnamese travel operator stay with the traveler until the end of the trip.
Connections with people who know the real Vietnam
This is not a system that repeats tourist-only courses. Local contacts who actually understand the trends and atmosphere of places across Vietnam are connected according to each traveler’s situation. For most places, we first search from a Korean traveler’s point of view, then verify them with Vietnamese friends. We also run a TikTok channel called TCG-QUYNHON, and when we do not have guests, people in our local network help make videos. We review and inspect places worth visiting.

The moment rain becomes an experience
Imagine that you are walking and suddenly get caught in heavy rain. Instead of standing there in panic, you send a Zalo message.
“I am near Hoan Kiem right now and it is raining. Is there a good LP bar or live jazz club for a rainy day?”
The original plan may have been outdoors, but the travel operations staff can quickly connect you with a local spot, address, and reservation tips that fit the mood of the day. In that moment, weather changes from a problem into an opportunity to experience a deeper night in Vietnam. In places like Hue, where many historic sites are involved, we may guide guests to a hotel with a high, scenic view. For guests interested in tea and snacks, we may even connect an impromptu business meeting.
“The concierge service we pursue does not have to be luxurious. It is focused on solving problems.”
Traveler-centered, without extra margins
The point is that guests are connected to the local network so they can make better decisions according to their own taste. It reduces risks like taxi scams or pressure sales, and increases the density of free travel focused on people and culture. Guests can become Zalo friends with drivers or Vietnamese contacts they meet, and even if they later travel without us, they are always welcome.
The value we can provide is continuous variation and careful attention to each traveler’s taste.
Step 3: “What should we eat?”
Food is a large part of any trip. Especially in summer, when it is easy to get tired, we need to place a personal list of restaurants strategically along the route so it restores appetite and energy. In each city, we understand not only travel spots but also restaurants and must-visit places checked with locals.
Based on recommendations from the local network, we can design a Vietnam food guide around your taste. Because of personal preference, this sometimes includes street-food fighter style meals and Michelin restaurants.

Daytime: restorative hot food or cool local meals
If the guest is open to it, we recommend local meals. They are inexpensive and delicious. For travelers who want to go even more local, we may arrange a meal at a local person’s home or send them fishing together. After playing in the water under the hot sun, you could eat at an expensive buffet, but you could also visit a fisherman’s house near the water and be served a local meal.
This is the picture we aim for: the way we would treat a friend visiting Samcheok, where TCG is based.

Afternoon: signature desserts for a sugar recharge
In Hanoi, around 3 p.m., the hottest part of the day, it is good to add a sweet and bitter egg coffee or a smooth, cold coconut smoothie coffee. For guests who prefer the comfort of a hotel, we serve a good club sandwich while they rest by the hotel pool. If they feel uncomfortable from eating too much, they can have warm tea and snacks, then recover with a four-hands massage at a massage shop. We reduce the meal and restore the condition.

Night: street food and beer to cool down the heat
When the sun goes down, Vietnam reveals its real face. Guests can use the energy saved during the day to visit night markets and drink beer. Vietnamese people often eat together. There are local restaurants where people sing and eat delicious dishes, and there are clubs where you can have fun all night. Like a young street in Korea, people stay out at clubs until dawn, then go to late-night places that open only in the early morning to fill their stomachs before going home.
At night, cafes, small shops, and the flow of motorbikes all become part of the travel route.
The reason we guide trips until dawn is to make sure guests can move safely, with people assigned and help from drivers. Depending on personal choice, even a 24-hour trip can be designed with safe routes.
Finally: This summer, your Vietnam should be different
Summer in Vietnam is certainly hot. But if you first secure cool key places of your own, receive real-time care through a Zalo-based local network, and connect local food routes gently around your own taste, you can create a summer vacation more intense and memorable than any other season.
We always tell our guests this. Even if you give us only two or three days, even if you buy a flight ticket and contact us after arriving locally, we can still do our best to build the trip.
You do not have to stress over planning. You do not have to wander around sweating aimlessly in the street. This summer, you may want to begin Vietnam travel in a slightly different way: safer, freer, and possible even without a guide.
